BOTOX® targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet, which are caused by repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Dr. Rosner can inject these muscles with BOTOX® to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and the frown lines between your brows.

Wrinkles are caused by a combination of factors. It’s not just about cellular changes that occur over time, reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals in the sun and the environment. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. When you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet. BOTOX® works beneath the skin and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet.

Injecting BOTOX® into the muscles that cause lines can temporarily reduce the activity of those muscles, resulting in a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

How Moderate to Severe Crow’s Feet Lines Form

Crow’s feet lines are caused primarily by repeated contractions of the orbicularis oculi muscle that encircles the eye. The orbicularis oculi muscles are responsible for blinking and eyelid closure.

How Moderate to Severe Glabellar Lines Form

Glabellar lines are caused by repeated muscle contractions of the corrugator and orbicularis oculi muscles medially and the procerus and depressor supercilii inferiorly, creating the appearance of a furrowed brow.
